Writing Diagnostics is a focused assessment process that clarifies why writing feels so hard and what support will make the biggest difference. We look closely at mechanics, overall structure, and indicators that may suggest dysgraphia or related challenges, so families are not left wondering where to begin.
Learners complete a series of tasks-handwritten and digital-that may include sentence-level exercises, short paragraphs, and longer pieces when appropriate. We examine spelling patterns, punctuation, capitalization, spacing, letter formation, and keyboarding habits, as well as organization, transitions, and clarity of ideas.
Because dysgraphia often shows up in how writing looks and feels, not just in final grades, we also note factors such as grip, fatigue, avoidance behaviors, and the gap between oral language and written output. This helps us distinguish between skill-based issues and possible motor or processing difficulties.
After the assessment, families receive a detailed, easy-to-understand report that highlights strengths, pinpoints specific breakdowns, and offers practical recommendations. Suggestions may include instructional priorities, accommodations to discuss with school teams, and at-home tools such as graphic organizers or speech-to-text.
Writing Diagnostics can be used to guide our own intervention work or to inform IEP discussions, outside evaluations, and classroom support. The goal is simple: to replace vague comments like "careless errors" or "needs to try harder" with concrete information and an actionable path forward.
Share a few details about your learner and your goals, and our licensed intervention specialist will respond with clear next steps, program options, and a path toward confident, joyful learning at home.
