Reading Intervention

Reading Intervention
Our Reading Intervention program is designed for learners who are tired of feeling stuck, even after extra help at school. We focus on the root skills that actually move the needle: phonemic awareness, structured phonics, decoding, and accurate word reading, all grounded in the Science of Reading.

Every plan begins with a brief skills check so we understand exactly where breakdowns occur. Then we design live, online sessions that follow a clear, predictable routine: sound work, phonics instruction, word reading, connected text practice, and quick review. This structure helps anxious readers relax; they know what's coming next, and they start to trust that reading can make sense.

During instruction, students learn how to hear, pull apart, and blend sounds, then connect those sounds to letters and patterns. We use multi-sensory techniques-saying, writing, and reading words-to lock in learning. Instead of guessing from pictures or the first letter, students gain concrete decoding strategies they can use in any classroom.

You can expect:
- Individual or very small-group online sessions with a licensed Intervention Specialist.
- Explicit teaching of phonics patterns and syllable types so longer words feel less intimidating.
- Guided reading of decodable texts matched to your child's current skill level.
- Immediate, specific feedback that corrects errors without shaming.
- Simple practice activities between sessions, supported by our 24/7 digital resource library.

This program is a strong fit for Grade 1-8 students, as well as teens or adults who never received structured literacy instruction. Over time, families typically notice fewer meltdowns around homework, greater reading stamina, and a real shift from "I can't read" to "I'm starting to get this." Our goal is steady, documented growth and a renewed sense of possibility every time your learner opens a book.
